We’re seeing new North Carolina associates successfully build their businesses and take advantage of the flexibility, growth potential, and long-term rewards that a real estate career in this state can offer.

To obtain a North Carolina real estate license, you must first complete a 75-hour North Carolina Broker Pre-Licensing course approved by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC). Successful completion of this course allows you to sit for the North Carolina Real Estate Licensing Exam. Once you pass the exam, the state will issue you a North Carolina Provisional Broker License, which authorizes you to list and sell real estate anywhere in North Carolina.

The provisional status is removed after completing three required North Carolina Broker Post-Licensing courses, which must be finished within 18 months of your North Carolina license issue date.

The Long & Foster Institute of Real Estate – North Carolina offers all required North Carolina real estate licensing courses. We proudly serve students throughout the Triangle with two convenient classroom locations: Cary (Preston) School and our Clayton (Triangle East) School.
